Getting Ready for 2013-2014

Okay, Lots of things have happened since I last put all of these things up on my blog... like the fact that I am officially a Technology Specialist.  I took the test, I finished the classes, and now I supposedly know all these things that make me a cool teacher.  Well...we shall see about that!  The school year starts on August 15th this year, which is earlier than years previous due to a new Superintendent.  I don't know how I feel about it, but I'm sure that it will be fine.  I can still go to the pool to de-stress after school.  Other than that, the latest is having a student teacher for the first time!  She seems like a great girl and we are going to tear up this new school year and get these kids loving music.  However, I wanted to give some goals for everyone to see... which means that I have to do it...

Goals for 2013-2014 School Year

1. Send home access to the final projects of at least two grade levels. (i.e. the songs that they record, etc.)

2. Post on professional blog (this one) at least once a month.

3. Have 5th Grade Students on edmodo from the beginning of the year.

4. Finish the school music page!!!!!!!!  (I've been slowly but surely getting this done, but I keep forgetting to finish)

So there you have my goals for the year!  I've got lots of things that I want to do and lots of things that I'm ready to go with.  My only issue that I'm running into is where you get the time to do all these things?  I see these techie teachers posting all these cool things and showing off their student's work and I think it is AWESOME, and then I think... I have 26 sections of kids, at about 6 groups a class, which means that I would have to post... OH MAN!!!  Therein lies my issue!!!  So, I've decided that I'm going to do it this year and start the year off right.  Maybe having a student teacher will help me with this plan because the new things I want to do can be things that she works with me on and the things I already did, I know how to do.  We shall see!
